| CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS EquinePost.com is seeking contributing writers for our resource center. If you're an equine professional or a writer with an interest in horses, we want to see your work!
EquinePost.com offers our contributing writers a chance to make a name for themselves online. All articles published on EquinePost.com include free advertising, such as a link back to the author's website or contact information for his or her equine business. Writing an EquinePost.com article is a great way to advertise your products and services, or to just to share your knowledge with the equestrian community. And EquinePost.com receives 30,000 unique visitors each month, so your work will be widely read.
Two ways to contribute: You can contribute to EquinePost.com by writing a single article on a subject that is of interest to you, or by contributing a regular monthly "Expert" column.
Single Article Submissions:
Articles Published: We are open to articles on any subject, so long as it is related to horses or other equids. Articles can focus on training, history, art, science, culture ... the only limitation is your imagination.
Submissions: Send a complete article, or query by email. If querying by email, include a short outline of what you will be writing about. The letter should demonstrate your ability to write and your knowledge of the subject.
Assignments: Once your idea has been accepted, an assignment letter and transfer-of-rights agreement will be sent to you by email. All submissions are reviewed for quality and suitability, and are edited to conform to EquinePost.com style.
Length: Most articles are between 300 and 1,000 words.
Photographs: Photographs are not necessary, but they will always make your article more appealing. Send them with your query or submission as attachments in JPG format. If sending more than one image, please put them in a zip file. If possible, avoid sending any file larger than 1MB.
Expert Submissions:
Authors who are interested in writing a monthly column for our Expert program should send us a query by email. The query should include a topic proposal and a 300 word writing sample. Topics need to be unique and specific; for example, instead of "horse training," we'd prefer to see "endurance training," or "training the problem horse."
Experts should be prepared to write at least one short article each month, and will also need provide links to other websites that are related to the Expert's topic. Experts may use their column to advertise their own products and services, or they may post relevant links from income-generating affiliate programs such as Amazon.com or Commission Junction (limited to five specific products and three banner ads).
Some open topics (please query if interested):
- Training the Problem Horse
- The Boarded Horse
- Equine health for owners
- Mules
- Gentling the Mustang
